Prayers for The Church

Blessed God, thank you for another week to bring our prayers and common supplications before You. Thank You for the church You came to save, deliver her from heresy and establish Your truth in our hearts that we all might know that perfect and accepted will of Your glorious call.

Bless and equip those You have made Shepard over Your flock, endure Your ministers with grace, love, patience, long-suffering and meekness; fill them with everything good and give them the Spirit of humility to understand that they are made ministers to serve the people and not to be served.

Fill with courage and boldness, those whose peace and lives are threatened on the account of their faith in Christ Jesus; Abba Father, let them know that God is near; grant us the same zeal and power You gave to the Apostles and Prophets to continue to proclaim Your unchanging Word in this changing world, grant that by the Power of Your holy Word we might save both ourselves and them that hears.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
