Prayers of Thanksgiving & Rededication

Dearly beloved in Christ, it is of the Lord’s mercy that we were not consumed; it has indeed pleased the Lord to spare our lives amidst the troubles of 2020 and to this ends we are to show our appreciation to Him in songs of everlasting praise and to also offer our lives to Him once again in this year 2021, trusting Him alone to be the driver, the captain and the pilot of our lives. Therefore I invite you this blessed day to lift your voice and your heart as we call upon the name of the Lord to bless us in this new year.

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Blessed Jehovah our Rock and great defender, we lift our voice to you with this song of thanks giving because we know that if it had not been by your grace and mercy, we would have been counted among the dead in 2020. Thank you for when the enemies rose up like a flood, you oh Lord by the power of Your Majesty set a standard that they could not attain. Thank you oh Lord that even when we thought all hope is lost in lockdown of nations due to covid-19, You still in Your mercy granted us access to the earth. Thank You blessed and Faithful Father, that when we were faithless, You oh Lord remained faithful. Thank You for keeping us and our entire families and friends from the deadly virus of Corona; we are not ignorant of the fact that many who started the year with us could not see the end of it, but we are grateful for Your love and mercy towards us, for no man can save his or her own life except the Lord be with him or her. Thank You most holy Lord for in all these things we are more than conqueror through Christ Jesus…

1. Take my life, and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee;
take my moments and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move
at the impulse of thy love;
take my feet, and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee.

2. Take my voice, and let me sing
always, only, for my King;
take my lips, and let them be
filled with messages from thee.
Take my silver and my gold,
not a mite would I withhold;
take my intellect, and use
every power as thou shalt choose.

3. Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
take my heart, it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne.
Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store;
take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee.

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that it is You and You alone that is preserving my life, I also acknowledge that in this year 2021 that I can’t do without you, help me navigate through this year, take my life, my voice, my will and my thoughts and make them thine, direct my foot steps this year, save me from dying prematurely and unprepared, by the leadership of the Holy Spirit may I not be victim of any evil circumstances.

Many put their trust in horse, others trust in chariots but my trust and confidence in this 2021 is in You Lord Jesus. May Your will alone be done in my life and family in this year. Give me courage in difficulties, faithfulness in duty, loyalty in friendship and finally in your mercy, grant me a share of your eternal Kingdom through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
