Salvation by Predestination: The Revelation of Jesus Christ

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:14-16|KJV-

Since this week, we have established that salvation is by divine election even before the foundation of the world, we also saw how special opportunities to be saved were granted to some individuals and they refused it, while some accepted it and were saved; that opportunity was what we saw as the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. That grace appeared to the whole world and the criteria to benefit from it is “whosoever believe in Him” will be saved and whoever does not believe in Him is condemned already.

From the forgoing scripture, salvation looks so easy and simple, that all you need to do is to believe in Jesus Christ and you are saved, Jesus took us back to the incident that took place in Numbers 29 for us to understand what it takes to be saved, when the people murmured against God, God sent a fiery serpent in their midst to bite them and from there many died while others acknowledged their sin and turned to Moses to help them beg God to have mercy; but God knows that it takes more than acknowledgement of sin to have a genuine repentance, so He gave Moses an instruction to set on a pole the image of a brass serpent, that signifies the death of Christ on the cross, that whosoever look on that serpent hanging on the pole will be healed, so you can see that their salvation came with a demand from them that is more than acknowledging their sins, and you will agree with me that as simple as that exercise was, many did not look at that brass Serpent just as Moses commanded them.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

(John 12:32|KJV-

You have to understand that it was the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that draws all manner of men to Him. But that is not the assurance to save all men, because it’s not all that comes to him will be needing salvation, some will come to collect anointing, others will come for prosperity, some will come for miracles, others will come to inquire of Him etc, it’s only few that will come to look at His face and that is where salvation is, while others are looking at His hands and what He can offer, those that needed to be saved are the one that will fix their gave at His face because they are the ones who are predestined to conform to the image of His dear Son Jesus Christ and their is no way you can look like someaone you don’t even know His face.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever, the Son will reveal him.

(Matthew 11:27|KJV-

You can see that it takes more than coming to Jesus Christ to be saved, it takes more than believing in Him as the miracle working God, as the one who died and rose again, it takes more than that to be saved. If that was all that is needed to be saved, then I will have no need preaching this message to you because virtually everyone in church believe in Jesus Christ, including the Muslims even the occultic believe in Him and what He can do, but for a man to be saved, He needs revelation of whom Jesus is. And there is only one person who can reveal Him to you, and that is God Himself.

When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say (3303) that thou art John the Baptist:, (1161) some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

(Matthew 16:13-17|KJV-

Beyond going to church, beyond preaching the gospel, beyond doing miracles signs and wonders, salvation is tied to the revelation of who Jesus is and you cannot know Him in any theological school, you cannot know Him by going to the mountain and doing forty days dry fasting, you cannot know Him by reading your Bible from Genesis to Revelation, you cannot know Him by seeing Him in your dreams; the only people that will know Him are those the Father choose to reveal Him to them. So it is beyond coming for alter call, it’s beyond saying salvation Prayers, you need a revelation that only God the Father can give and the truth is that He cannot reveal the true identity of Himself to anyone that is not predestined to be saved because it will amount to a waste of time and grace.

So it’s possible that you must have known God based on what you pastor told you He is, you might have even known Him by reading the Bible, you might have known Him just by being born in a Christian family, you might have known Him by your denominational doctrines, but the truth is that it is only those the Father choose to reveal Him to that will truly know His identity. Someone might ask, why is salvation tired to knowing Him;

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

(Romans 8:29|KJV-

The reason is that, man lost the image of God due to the corruption that took place in Eden, and to restore that image, Christ came and died for us, so anyone who must be free from that corruption must conform to the image of Jesus Christ and you cannot look like Jesus Christ you don’t know. And you cannot know Him except God has predestined you to look like Him, only then can She reveal Him to you.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest., Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

(Matthew 11:28-30|KJV-

Jesus Himself made this invitation to everyone and that is why everyone is in church today looking for one form of rest or the other, some are looking for rest from witches and wizard, so are looking for rest from sickness and diseases, others are looking for financial rest, while many are looking for power, miracles, signs and wonders rest and the amazing thing is that Christ can grant it to anybody who seek it but when it comes to the rest that brings salvation, He will demand you to take His yoke and learn of Him, and that’s where many people ran back,the rich man came and demanded that rest of eternal life, and Jesus asked Him to sale all he has and give to the poor, the man walked away because he has a great possessions, Nicodemus came, Jesus told him, he must be born again, he became confused and left, the Pharisees came and Christ told them to do the work of Abraham, they got angry. So what is it about this yoke that Christ offers those who really come to Him? That yoke is the revelation of who He is, and the ultimate truth is that you can’t bear that revelation until the Father Himself draws you to Him;

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. … No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up, at the last day.

(John 6:37,44|KJV-

Anyone whom God has predestined in Christ shall come to Him and such a person cannot come by himself, the Father is the one that will draw such person to Him. The problem many Christians have is that they are coming to Jesus with their legs instead of their hearts. He also assured that anyone who comes to Him, He will not cast the person away, that is why if you come and say you need healing, He will give it to you, if you say you need power in His name, He will give it but all that the Father has predestined in Him shall come to Him and they won’t come like the other persons, the Father Himself is the one that will draw them and present them to Him.

Someone sent this to me sometimes ago and claim that the authors of the Bible were confused, but he failed to understand that, this is the mystery of salvation, it is presented this way so that Cain and his seed will continue to wallow in confusion.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever,, shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

(Acts 2:21|KJV-

Wow so easy, just call the name of the Lord and you are saved, saved from what? That’s what many reader did not bother to know, if you read the preceding verse, Peter was talking about the troubles that will befall this earth and when that trouble comes, if you can call on the name of the Lord, you will be saved, that is why God has given Him a name that is above all names that at the mention of the name of Jesus, every kneel will now in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth. Miracle is in that name, healing is in that name, salvation too is in that name, so anyone can call on that name and He will answer depending on what you seek Him for. A Muslim too can call that name and He will respond depending on what he or she wants, but when it comes to salvation, it goes beyond calling that name, the Father need to reveal the person behind that name to you and also draw you to Him.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,, even as many as, the Lord our God shall call.

(Acts 2:39|KJV

So if He did not call you, the promise is not for you, just like Ismeal, you can receive all the blessings but the promise is not for you.

Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily, such as should be saved.

(Acts 2:47|KJV-

God is the one who adds people to His kingdom, so no one will enter heaven just because he is a pastor or because he was born in a Christian home, no, salvation is God’s own business and He did not leave it for chance, He did not leave it to anyone who wishes, He has predestined and chosen His own from the foundation of the world to enter it(Eph. 1:4)

But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

(Mark 10:40|KJV-

We know the story that lead to that statement by Jesus Christ, that is to teach us that heaven and eternal life is not a presumptuous affairs and no one gets it by favour or lobbying, the names of people who will enter it has been written down before the foundation of the world and the book whereof it is written is sealed with seven seals, so make no mistake, the matter of salvation is a settled one even before it began.

So all you need to do is to first know who you are, are you a wheat or a tares? Are you from Adam or from the serpent? Because the law of redemption as we saw on Wednesday is that He came to redeem only His own, so you can know where you belong by the level of your revelation about Him and your compliance in obedience to His word. When you see yourself living by the word of God without controversy, He has drawn you to conform but when you still struggle to keep His word, just know that you have not caught that revelation of who He is.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(Matthew 7:21-23|KJV-

Finally dear people of God, it is not everyone that you see doing miracles that is known by Jesus Christ, it not everyone that call on Him that knows His true identity. In this journey of eternal life, look beyond signs and wonder and see that there is more to revelation of who Jesus is and until the Father Himself draws you, you may be thinking that you are saved by the miracles you see around you.

PRAYERS

Ancient of Days, the I am that I am, we thank you for the grace you have given us to know who you are, thank you for the revelation of your Son Jesus Christ, Lord they are many who are yet to receive this revelation, please Lord reveal this grace to them, grant them genuine repentance that they might work in Your ways and not according to the flesh, endure them with sound doctrines and bring them to the knowledge of you dear Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
