Doctrine of Redemption

Salvation by Predestination: Grace and Faith

Someone sent me a message after reading my Monday post, he contented that we all are saved by grace through Faith in Christ Jesus. That is correct but there is no way you can understand grace and faith until you understand the driving force which is that He has predestined us to receive that gift of salvation.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

(Ephesians 1:4-7|KJV-

God chose His own from the foundation of the world; I want you to look at that translation from the living Bible;

Long ago, even before he made the world, God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us; he decided then to make us holy in his eyes, without a single fault–we who stand before him covered with his love. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because he wanted to! Now all praise to God for his wonderful kindness to us and his favor that he has poured out upon us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. So overflowing is his kindness toward us that he took away all our sins through the blood of his Son, by whom we are saved;

(Ephesians 1:4-7|LIVING-

So you can see very clearly that nobody become saved outside those He chose from the foundation of the world. God knew what will happen in Eden, that was why Christ was slain form the foundation of the world to redeem His own, He saved us through the blood of His son Jesus Christ. He chose us to be holy without fault before Him, this very good plan of God is His GRACE towards salvation; that everyone He chose did not do anything to merit it, just that it has pleased Him to do so. Jesus Christ did not come to earth to create new man but to redeem God’s creation, so all He did on the cross was to adopt those who are predestined in Him, and the law of redemption is that you can only redeem what was originally yours (Ruth 4:1-10); and we saw from our previous studies that Abel was His own, Seth was His own but Cain was of that evil one, so the generations of Cain is not His own, but the generation of Seth who were Corrupted through intermarriage with the generation of Cain (Gen. 6) are His own He came to redeem. So those whom were predestined in Him unto adoption were those whom the saving grace was made available for.

Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. … For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

(Titus 2:8,11-13|KJV-

I want you to understand that they are people who are of contrary part, these people are the Serpent seed, and we have established that, because of the animal nature in them, they can never obey God’s word that is necessary for salvation. There are so many Grace’s which men receive today in church; grace to make wealth, grace to live in health, grace for manifestation of gifts, grace to own large congratulations etc. But above them all, there is this grace that brings salvation, that grace is the person Jesus Christ, He appeared to everyone but did everyone accept Him? NO! That grace appeared to Cain but Cain refused it (Gen.4:6-7), that grace appeared to Noah and he accepted it and was saved, it also appeared to Lots wife but she rejected it by her disobedience, that grace also appeared to Rahab the harlot in Joshua 2; 6:24-26 and she accepted it and was saved, that grace located Joseph at Potiphar’s house and he was saved (Gen. 39) that grace also appeared to Samson but Samson rejected it, that grace appeared to Esau and Jecob; but Esau sold his own for a plate of pottage (Gen. 25:29-34), that grace appeared to the scribes and the Pharisees, but they rejected Him, that grace also slept and wake up with Judas Iscariot but Judas for 30 pieces of silver sold his own portion.

Good friends, the grace that brings salvation has appeared to all men but not all men will accept it! Nobody will accept it by mistake, if you are not predestined to accept it, you will even be a pastor, preaching the gospel but be denied eternal life on the last day, why? Because that grace is a teacher! And as far as you are not predestined to conform to the image of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:29), you can never obey what that grace teaches. Nobody can deny ungodliness and worldliness by his own will and no one can keep the command of God by his own doing; it is the Spirit of God in us that teaches us to deny ungodliness, it is the Spirit of God in us that teaches us to follow the truth revealed through the Word of God, No man can please God in the flesh! (Rom. 8:8). It takes more than being nice to people to please God, it takes more than going to church and reading the Bible to please God; the cost to please God is to offer your body (life) as a living sacrifice to God (dead to sin and alive in Christ) that is only when your mind can be transformed to look like Jesus Christ (Rom. 12:1-2) because He chose His own to conform to the image of His dear Son Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

(Ephesians 2:8-10|KJV-

Before Christ came to save us, we did not apply for it, we did not lobby for it, God chose us in Him to adopt us for His own pleasure, that is Grace! For us to be partakers of what Christ did on the cross, we need faith. Salvation (grace) is a free gift of God but faith is not free because it will require of you to do something which is good works (John 6:28-29) (believe in the one He sent) which God has ordained before the foundation of the world that we should walk in. It is one thing for this grace that brings salvation to appear to you, it’s another thing for you to do what it teaches you to do. It appears to all men free of charge but it will take faith (works) to demonstrate your acceptance. That grace appeared to Abraham and he stood up from his father’s house and went into another land with God. That grace also appeared to him and He took His only Son Isaac to sacrifice to the Lord; that is faith.

There is no better way to demonstrate your faith in Christ if not by doing what He has said we should do through His word; for faith comes by hearing and that is hearing the word of God.

The only way to know those whom He has predestined is that they are people of faith, not faith to move mountain o! it’s faith to believe that God exist and that He is the rewarder of them that seek Him diligently. Your diligent walk with God in obedience to His word is the first sign that He has chosen you.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

(Philippians 2:12-13|KJV-

Salvation is not a free gift you received and go to sleep, you stay awake in Christ by doing His will, and I repeat again, no man can do the will of God except by the Holy Spirit, until God begin to work in you, the world and the flesh will remain your master.

So friends, you see that salvation is a mystery, it is not as cheap as many people presented it. God came to redeem His own who were lost from the very beginning, He adopted us to Himself in Christ Jesus for His own good pleasure not minding our own contribution before He chose us, all we need do is to accept what He has done and walk by it in obedience. On Friday we will consider the doctrine of many are called but few are chosen.

Faithful God and Redeemer! Thank you for the gift of salvation, thank you for while we were yet sold to sin, you sent You only begotten Son to redeem us, thank you for breaking the yoke of sin around our neck, thank you for calling us by your name, thank you because the law of sin and death has no power over us again. Blessed Lord, without you we can do nothing, we have come to the understanding that without faith we can’t please you, Lord it’s our desire that You increase our faith so we can do that which is pleasing in Your sight just like men of old, that we might obtain good report unto eternal life. Lord we pray for as many that needed to be saved but still living in the flesh, may your saving knowledge appear to them in the name of Jesus Christ! Lord many has gone astray like that lost sheep, please bring them back to the fold so that we all can be gathered before you as one fold under one Shepard through Jesus Christ our blessed Redeemer! Amen.
