Prayers for the Church

It is no longer news that while men sleep, the enemy sneaked in and sow weeds among the wheat and the master has allowed both the wheat and the weeds to grow together (Matthew 13:24-30). That they both receive same sunshine and rain does not mean that they were planted by the same farmer, it is on the day of harvest that the separation will be made obvious. So is the church today with a mix multitude but God is not confused, He knows those who are His; I invite you today to join as we ask God for His continual grace upon the church.

Faithful God, while we were yet sinners, You gave Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for us, so that through Him all who died will be made alive. Thank You for salvation, thank You for reconciling us once again in fellowship with the Father, thank You for we know that our hope is not of the things of this world alone, thank You for the Church; the bride of Jesus Christ, it’s our prayers that You help us just like the wise virgins to always have our lamb burning for You as we keep watch and pray.

Keep us focus and save us from sleeping on duty; so that when the good Shepard shall appear, we will be found keeping guard where He planted us. Delivery us from false gospel and different Jesus, incline our hearts to Your word and keep our feet from slipping. Help us to discover the path to the ancient landmark and walk therein, fortify us with discernment of spirit, make us wise as serpent and gentle as dove; that in following Your footsteps, we will arrive safely at Your right hand.

Help everyone of us to discover our individual ministries and function effectively in them, uphold us in the knowledge of Your Truth, endure with grace those You made Shepard over Your flock and fill them with everything good to do Your will. Bless their family and the work of their hand, fill them with truth and save them from all form of heresies and denial of Your power.

We pray for Christian people everywhere, save us from the waves of doctrines, false teachings and false prophets; help us to uphold Your unchanging word in this changing world that through patience and sound doctrine we will be changed from glory to glory till the day of our perfection through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
