Prayers for the Ministers of God

It is no doubt that since our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Lord has made each and everyone of us ministers unto Himself. Today I invite you to pray for yourself and those called into the work of the ministry.

Anglican Hymnal: A&M Revised 397

1. And now, O Father, mindful of the love
that bought us, once for all, on Calvary’s Tree,
and having with us him that pleads above,
we here present, we here spread forth to thee
that only Offering perfect in thine eyes,
the one, true, pure, immortal Sacrifice.

2. Look, Father, look on his anointed face,
and only look on us as found in him;
look not on our misusings of thy grace,
our prayer so languid, and our faith so dim:
for lo, between our sins and their reward
we set the Passion of thy Son our Lord.

3. And then for those, our dearest and our best,
by this prevailing Presence we appeal:
O fold them closer to thy mercy’s breast,
O do thine utmost for their souls’ true weal;
from tainting mischief keep them white and clear,
and crown thy gifts with strength to persevere.

4. And so we come: O draw us to thy feet,
most patient Savior, who canst love us still;
and by this food, so aweful and so sweet,
deliver us from every touch of ill:
in thine own service make us glad and free,
and grant us never more to part with thee.

But God’s truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it. It is a foundation stone with these words written on it: “The Lord knows those who are really his,” and “A person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong.”

(2 Timothy 2:19|LIVING-

Almighty God, it is you who called us out of darkness into the marvelous light of your dear Son Jesus Christ and have made us a royal Priesthood to show forth your glory, may we who share Christ body live His risen life, may we who have the Holy Spirit bring life to others, may we who uphold the word of truth, bring healing and comfort to our world by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Make us instruments of your service and equip us for every good works that wherever we find ourselves, we may be able to fight the good fight of faith through the merit of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many ministers are in confusion and in fear for this Lockdown, we ask oh Lord that you fill their spirit with hope again, bless all who genuinely seek after the salvation of men and crown their efforts with success, curse are those ministers who delight are in scattering the flock of Christ and exploiting them for personal gain; bless all who labour in word and in prayers for the Unity of the body that through faith in you, we all may come to oneness in faith and in doctrine.

Fill us with the Spirit of Truth, open our eyes so we can understand Scriptures, expel among us false doctrines and teachings of demons, help us to love one another just as Christ has loved us and gave His life for us; remove strive, envy and the spirit of comparison among us, build in us a desire to seek after the lost sheep and finally through their living and teaching, they will save themselves and them that hears them through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
