The New Born Christ and the Christ who was: Christmas

Christmas or the Nativity of Christ is a Christian celebration of the remembrance of the birth of Christ.

The birth of Jesus Christ by Mary was not the beginning of Christ existence. Christ was with God from the very beginning of time. (Gen. 1:26; John 1:1-2). When there were asking Him where He came from, He responded that before Abraham was; I am. (John 8:58)

The new born Christ is a remembrance of God made flesh and dwell among men.

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Revelation 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

St. John caught the revelation of this Lamb of God who against all odds prevailed over death to loss the seven seals. He has been with God from the beginning of time, He took on Him flesh so to carry out the will of the Father, that’s how He was born of a pure virgin.

Another truth is that the birth of Christ is necessary for our salvation. That any man who must be save must believe that Christ was both man and God. It is equally essential to believe that He died and on the third day God raised Him from the dead and now lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Why Do we celebrate Christmas

One of the very first reason why the Church all over the world celebrate the birth of Christ is because in His birthday lies our redemption.

Secondly, Adams disobedient in the garden landed man into enmity with God and their is need for this reconciliation and God taught it fit to come to earth by Himself to reconcile man unto Himself.

Christmas is the day God restored His relationship with man as it was in the Garden where God and Man fellowship. Christmas brought us into the reality of God with us.

Christmas is a day to love God and offer Him our lives just as the three wise men brought Him gifts, the only gift we can offer Him today is the gift of our soul and body.

By virtue of Christ birth, He took on Him the following title: the Son of the Virgin, The Son of God, The Son of Man, The Son of David, The Son of Abraham.
