The Active Church: The Church at Rest
I want us to examine two sets of religious people today.
First are the shouting types, second are the silent types. We have scriptures that will give us insight concerning them.
1 Kings 18:24 Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed.
1 Kings 18:26 So they prepared one of the bulls and placed it on the altar. Then they called on the name of Baal all morning, shouting, “O Baal, answer us!” But there was no reply of any kind. Then they danced wildly around the altar they had made.
1 Kings 18:28 So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out.
1 Kings 18:36 At the customary time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command.
1 Kings 18:37 O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”
I wish we can have a church like that of prophet Elijah and not of Baal. Too many Christians believe it’s by shouting; no man can threaten God to come down by shouting and radicality, for God is a respecter of relationship.
I will advise you quit shouting and start building quit relationship with God if you are interested in seeing the finger of God in manifestation.
We have many believers today who specializes in shouting as if demon goes by shouting. We have those that speaks queens English as if God did not go to school, what about the rhythm experts? The truth is this…
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk; it is living by God’s power.
silence is a dangerous key in accessing the heartbeat of God.
I was in a church some certain time where the pastor during praise and worship goes round with Koboko; flogging anyone who is not dancing or sitting down.
My quiet counsel is that the Church is first the Church of Jesus Christ and not a centre of entertainment and frustration.
Yes the Bible said, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
You can’t resist the devil by shouting nor speaking rhythm or queens English.
Demons will not fear you because you have bold face and can shout, principalities and powers don’t even understand English Language neither do rhythm makes sense before the throne of Grace.
What matters most is the Word of God. Jesus overcame the devil in Mathew chapter 4 not by shouting or speaking Hebrews but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Instead of Shouting, go and locate where it is written and save the breathen the headache and stress.
The Word of God is power. When discovered and applied with faith. Never trade the Word with anything.
May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ our Savior and the Love of God Almighty and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit Divine, be with us All. Amen.
