Eternity by Design: Faith
John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
The truth remains that nobody in any part of the world can appear before the judgement throne of God and claim that he never heard of Jesus Christ.
The gift of Jesus Christ is for the Whole world and all that is in it. The redemption He came and secure is for the world world and not for a particular set of people or nation; look at how the Bible put it:
Revelation 5:9 And [now] they sing a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll and to break the seals that are on it, for You were slain (sacrificed), and with Your blood You purchased men unto God from every tribe and language and people and nation. [Ps. 33:3.]
Note: He purchase men unto God with His blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. So we can see that it’s God intention and plan that all be saved unto eternal life. For Christ redemption Power has been made available for all people all over the world but why will some people go to hell?
The reason why some people on earth will end up in hell is not just because of sin but because they failed to acknowledge Christ and his redemption work. The tag for eternity with Jesus is simply “BELIEVE”. The belief need to be captured within the eternal plan of God is thus:
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
For pagans who did not believe in the existence of God, this should help; it’s clear from here that you cannot end up with a God you don’t believe in not to talk of the God you did not seek. So any man who has plans to end up with God must as a matter of fact believe in the existence of God; even though He cannot be seen or feel notwithstanding, but have a settled conviction that He exists based on the teachings of the Scriptures and the active manifestation of the Holy Spirit in earth.
Secondly, such a person must diligently seek after God; it’s my just enough to believe in the existence of God and go to bed, you must take active steps in your living and and dying to understand and do that which is pleasing unto Him. Haven come to believe in Him, you must be seen loving Him daily, whatever you know He abhors such as sin, you must not be found doing them, whatever you know that He demands of you, you must be found doing them such as obeying His commandments.
This second principle can be summed up to mean total loyalty to the God you have believed in. You cannot claim that you believe in Him and still rebel against Him in your actions and words, so to enerstly seek God demand an absolute loyalty to Him.
Finally, it’s not enough to diligently seek after the God you have believed in without a settled conviction that He is able to reward you. The reward seems to be the driving force or staying power. What makes a man a diligent seeker of God is the fact that He alone has the key to eternal life and the criteria to enter is predicated on the Diligent seeking.
Romans 10:9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
This one is for my Muslim and other religion friends who merely see Jesus as a prophet and so on and forth… The truth from the scriptures above for anyone who wishes to enter the kingdom of God is that he or she has to confess Jesus as Lord; IE. God. Yes it’s not enough to know Jesus but your knowledge of Him as the Lord Jesus is required because He is both God and Man, it is not sufficient to know Him as a man who once lived the earth, you must also know and acknowledge Him as Lord.
Secondly, you must believe that God raised Him from the dead. Some believe that God was the one who took Him, others believe that He mysteriously disappeared. The correct faith is to believe that Christ died for the sins of mankind and God raised Him from the dead.
In conclusion, anyone who aim to end up in heaven must confess God in his or her living through willingly and knowingly and believe in his or her heart that God is a rewarder of the works of righteousness.
