The Law of Two Masters
The truth is that God has His men everywhere, likewise the devil. Make no mistakes, God is not in competition with the devil neither do their have anything in common.
When a man refuse to accept Jesus Christ, he cannot also at the same time refuse to accept the devil. It is a spiritual law that no one can serve two masters and no one can be free from the two masters, so it’s either you hate one and like one, or you are loyal to one and disloyal to the other.
How then do we know the choice you have made?
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
This spiritual law is of effect that your heart desires and longings determines the master you have become his slave. If your heart is on the things above then Jesus Christ is your Lord and master but if you have your heart fix on the things below, then the devil has control over your soul.
Let’s look at a quick drama in the scriptures,
Matthew 4:8 Again, the Devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
Matthew 4:9 And he said to Him, “I will give You all these things if You will fall down and worship me.”
The truth remains that the devil always claim to have something to offer, but do not be deceived because he has noon. The Bible made us to understand that the heavens is of the Lord and the earth has He given to the Sons of men.
Don’t be carried away by the vain promises of the devil because the earth is of the Lord and the fullness thereof.
In your office, working place, business, School etc, the devil will always claim to have something to offer, he might want you to accept or give bribe so as to become rich over night; he might want you to fake measurements so as to make more profit; he may want you to do examination malpractice so to upgrade your grade, as good as they may seem the truth still remains that every good and perfect gift comes from God alone for the devil created nothing and has no right to give you anything for your enjoyment rather he gives for sorrow.
The devil claim is everywhere around us, let’s look at Jesus reaction to him,
Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus told him, “Go away, Satan! For it is written:
Worship the Lord your God,
and serve only Him.”
The boldness to tell the devil to go away will depend on where your hear lies. Jesus was able to overcame the devil because he knows that he has nothing to offer. Everyone loves and wants to acquire wealth and riches including me but note that the devil cannot give you that and you will have peace of mind.
So in all you do and wherever you find yourself, let Christ and the agenda of His heavenly kingdom consume you thought and mind. Fix your eyes and heart upon Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
The Lord bless you.
