Third Week of Prayers: The Church and Family Feb.18, 2019

Good morning faithful people of God and welcome to this new week the Lord has made. It’s my Prayer for you that the God who rides on the wings of the wind will keep you and your family this week and beyond in the name of Jesus! Amen.

In this week, we shall be praying for the Church of Jesus Christ and our various families, but first of all I want us to understand something.

Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which God has called you. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; there is one God and Father of all people, who is Lord of all, works through all, and is in all.

Today it seems that the body of Christ is in competition with one another, we see one church seeing itself better and holier than the other, we see envy among the Brethren, we see churches building mansions and Cathedrals when others are sitting under the rain and sunshine to worship, we see doctrines of men rising against the doctrine of Christ, we can go on and on.

But going back to what St. Paul thought us; the church is one body- meaning that the church is a single unit under Christ so if you really love Christ, you have no reason to hate the church whatsoever denomination it be, provided Christ is worship there in Spirit and truth.

Secondly, the Church is one Spirit- this means that it’s the same Holy Spirit that works all things in the church so that we don’t consider one church holier and better than the other.

And finally, St. Paul reminds us that as a church though with different denominations we should understand that there is one God and He is the Father of all, working through all and He is the all in all.

So this week we shall be praying for the Church as well as our families and as you engage with God this week, He will engage in all that concerns you in Jesus name! Amen.
